Corey's flash cards
Ahlan my fellow student,
I’ve created computerized flashcards that are accessible from any computer or mobile device. I will be adding to this collection of “digital card decks” as the semester goes on as well as into next semester of Arabic. I can see that some have already started using them.
The decks currently include:
-Units 1-3 vocab from charts
-Unit 4's numeral chart
-All of the vocab we can write out plus additional words given to us by Ruwa (this deck will grow as the year goes on)
This list will grow as the year goes on.
To access the files go to http://www.iFlipr.com
Then click Decks, then search, then type UNH. You will see the decks there.
There is a 5 dollar iphone app available as well that will load faster than using your mobile phone browser.
I only ask that as a service you email me and correct me when you have found a mistake and in addition help me start an Arabic support group to work on homework together even if its over web cams. Thank you.

Two IA alumni give public talks
A public talk that two IA alumni will give on October 8 from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the Mub Entertainment Center.
Daniel Hilliard (’88), an international studies and political science major, is executive director of the Zoo Conservation Outreach Group, an organization affiliated with the Audubon Zoo and concerned with the preservation of species in Latin America. He is an adjunct assistant professor at the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute.
Robert Leavitt (’88), who paired his international affairs major with English, works in the White House where he is a National Security Council director for Africa.
I can imagine that the career paths of those 2 men may be an inspiration for a lot of our dual IA and language majors. For more information please go to:

Ahlan ya Tullaab,
Dear students in Arabic 401,
In addition to your dictation quiz on unit 3, please begin studying unit 4, and keep reviewing your old vocabulary.
Dear students in Arabic 503,
In addition to your quiz, please learn your مفردات from chapter 9, and practice them by doing تمرين 2. Any chance you get, review your old vocabulary, and use them with the new in your imaginary conversations, if you're not getting together with others in group study. I hope that you do have groups that meet on regular basis to practice your Arabic. It is essential to your learning, and level of comfort with the language.
