Arabic 402 filled by mistake

Ahlan Ya Tullaab,

I just wanted to inform you that Arabic 402 got filled by mistake with 8 students that are not eligible to take it.

If you've had difficulties signing up for it, and were told that it was full, I took care of the problem. So I hope that you go back and try again.

Hope you're having a wonderful time away from school :)

The party will have to waite :(

Dear students,

The weather forecast is conspiring against our last day celebration, and thus is forcing me to cancel class. It promises to be at it's worst right around the time for me to be driving home. So, we'll have to Waite and look forward to having fun when we see each other again in January. All I have to worry about right now is what to do with all the pita bread that my husband bought.

So good luck with your finals, and have a restful and safe break.

I had loads of fun with you this past semester, and it was a real privilege to teach you.

A'yaad Sa'eedah
Happy Holidays

How it all breaks down

Just to clarify how your grade for these presentations will be broken down:

Delivery, Pronunciation, Vocabulary, Grammar, Spelling : 10 points each

Your skits and presentations

Ahlan Ya Shebaab,

Just wanted to EMPHSIZE how important it is to practice your stuff, so that you do it with confidence. It is essential that your pronunciation be accurate. It along with the confidant manner of your delivery will count just as much as the content, grammar and spelling.

A feedback to Arabic 401 students:

Though the great majority of you should be very proud of your work from last Wednesday, some of you still lost a few points because they either couldn't read what they had written, or didn't pronounce the words accurately. I don't mean to be unrealistically demanding. I do understand that there are limits to how well you can pronounce these odd and at times difficult Arabic words, but I need to at least understand you :)

I look forward to see and hear what you've created.

A helpful book

A'izzaa'i Al-Tullaab,

I would like to recommend a nice book that might be helpful to you in preparing your final class presentations, and for general enrichment of your vocab and expressions. The title of this book is " Building Your Arabic Vocabulary". It's by Haroon Shirwani.
