Midterm on Thursday October 30

Marhaba Ya Shebaab,
I hope you had a good weekend.

Arabic 401:

Your exam will be cumulative. It will be on all your Mufradat (vocab) and spelling through chapter 6. Please come to class with questions should you need something reviewed or clarified. You may or may not have noticed, but all of your dictation words on your quizzes have been taken from your dictation exercises. Make sure you study those for your midterm.

Hadh Sa'eed

Arabic 503:

Your exam will be on chapters 8&9, and whatever we cover from chapter 10. Should you have any questions about any part of this material, come to class prepared to fire away.
The format of the exam will be to show off your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary through translation from Arabic to English and English to Arabic (much like what we do in class) and through "fill in the blanks" exercises.

For tullaabi fi Arabic 401, your next quiz will be on Thursday, 10/23. It will include both vocabulary and spelling words from Unit 5. It will also expect you to be able to form simple 2-word phrases, comprised of nouns and adjectives.

For tullaabi fi Arabic 503, your quiz will be on Tuesday, 10/28. It will be on chapter 9 in it's entirety. So let's go over any and all material you don't feel you're on solid grounds with.

-Study all your dictation drills.

-Study all your vocabulary (we went over those in class on Thursday).

503:

-Study your vocabulary.

-Study verb conjugation & negation of past and present.

-Study Al-Jethr(the root)& Al-Wazn(the pattern).

-Study your number(what comes before and after).
